What's The Deal with The Big 12

As Jerry Seinfeld would say “What’s the deal with the Big 12? Is Texas staying or going or what are they doing here?”

Now to the point The Big 12 is staying together in some half ass kinda way. While this is what most Big 12 fans wanted it is destined to fail and fail hard.

The Big 12 stayed together by promising their 3 darling schools (Texas,OU and A & M)Iphone money and lots of it! Then they promised the lesser schools double what they were making in the past few years so they would stay and like sheep they did. The planned worked but at what now?


Now the Big 12 has backed itself into a corner. They can’t have a championship game with 10 teams and they can’t afford to expand. So whatever this conference is to become it’s going to be a joke. If I were the BCS I would yank their automatic bid unless they added two teams which as I stated above they can’t afford to do that. Give that BCS bid to Notre Dame no matter their record. You know the brain trust that runs the BCS is dying to pull a stunt like that anyway.


Big 12 Commissioner Dan BeBee may have patched up his conference for now but until he figures out away to get two more teams in it is still on life support. Monday ESPN was reporting that it was inevitable that Texas, OU, Texas Tech and Oklahoma State were heading to the PAC 10 and orangebloods.com was reporting The Big 12 was to stay intact. Now I’m thinking they may both be right. The one thing we know is the 10 schools left in this mess are getting paid like a MFer! And that's what it's all about!
