Super Blog

Did you miss me? Sorry after I denounced my Cowboy's faith I had to join the witness protection program for a while. You wouldn't believe the living hell I've went through ever since that infamous blog hit the net three weeks ago. I've had kids spit at me as I walked down Las Colinas BLVD,People honking and flipping me off, others yelling GO Cowboys outside my front door at 4AM,death threats from someone I used to call Mom and other unmentionable stuff that it wouldn't be appropriate to write about here. I missed blogging so much that I decided to go the way of Sammy the Bull & Henry Hill and leave the program and get back to it. What better way to return to my blog then with a Super Blog? It just so happens my Super Blog coincides with the Super (can't type it here or I'll get sued) Game.

I made my first ever lightning bet on the Super Game 10 years ago. It was the Mighty St. Louis Rams and their "Greatest Show on Turf" playing the upstart Patriots with some rookie QB named Tom Brady. Now the Rams were favored by 14 points and I bet them to the tune of 10 bucks a point.

Maybe I should explain a Lightning Bet next. You know just in case you're not a degenerate gambler like a certain blogger who is fresh out of the witness protection program.

A lightning bet is wager where the amount is determined by the point spread. Now if you bet the favorite and they cover you get paid your set amount per point for every point they cover the spread by. Now if the underdogs win like they did on that faithful day in '02 you owe. You owe the point spread plus how much the dogs won by that day.For example I had a lighting bet a $10 a point on that 2002 Super Bowl. I took the Rams -14. Since the Pats won by 3 you add that to the 14 point spread and get 17. Now Multiply it by $10. I lost $170. Does that make since? By The way I stil wish I would of listen to Jimmy Kimmel on Fox Super Bowl Pre Game Show in 02. He was the only one with enough guts to pick the Pats!

My buddy and I have made it a tradition since 2002 to make a lightning bet on every Super Game since. My record is an awesome 2-8 since then. My friend has a simple winning strategy. This genius strategy will blow your mind! Are you ready? It's simple,he let's me pick the team I want.

This year I went 21-9-2 in the NFL Regular Season with my picks right here in this very blog. As good as I maybe at picking regular season games,I am that bad at picking Super Games. I don't know what it is. I can't pick that damn game! The Football Gods smile on my all season until Super Sunday(Can I say that?) rolls around. Then they all the Football Gods gather around and have a good laugh at my expense.

I am about to give you my pick. If you want to win I would really suggestion you do the opposite!

In the 2012 Super Game I like

New England -3 over NYG with a Lightning Bet!

My Christmas Wish.

I'll let you wish for Peace on Earth, Good Will to Men and all that jazz beacuse I have another wish on my Big Bad Christmas List . All I want for Christmas is for the Bulldogs of Athens,GA to beat LSU in the SEC Championship game this Saturday.

I have nothing against LSU personally. To me LSU has always just been a school that is there. I don't dislike them like other SEC Universities. However my Christmas wish is based solely on The BCS getting into mess that they can't get out of.

If a Christmas miracle happens and Georgia wins what happens next? It's time to play the feud. Show me, The BCS gets put into a no win situation, Ray!

Should LSU still play for the National Title even though they didn't win their conference? Or should one of the other one loss teams jump them?

No matter how the BCS plays it if the Tigers fall there will be a lot of upset fans across this great land. When the uproar comes from major players in the football world then something will have to be done. It could lead us to (dare I type it?) Playoffs. Which I think everyone in the country besides Nick Saban wants.

I hope the spirits of Herschel Walker,Matthew Stafford,AJ Green,Rannulph Junuh, and Bagger Vance fill that Bulldogs locker room and give them the power to crush the boys of Batton Rouge. However this is not a very likely scenario. Tis the season for miracles.

This last week has been very challenging for me. It seems like everyone and their dogs have tried to push my angry button. If this would have happen 10 years ago I know exactly how I would have handled this situation. I would have cranked up my mic on that 100,000 watt blow torch known as 105.3 FM Talk in Dallas and started blasting folks. I would have flipped that switch and went scorched earth until whoever was pissing me off called me crying out of pure embarrassment. I was just a kid back then 10 years ago. What the hell did I know?

Even when my old boss tried to talk sense to me & warn me about karma, not talking bad about people etc.etc.... He got an on air tongue lashing too. I guess looking back it is no wonder why I got "laid off" from that place. Oh well, live and learn. Now that I am 10 years older and all grows up I would never ever dream of bashing people like that ever again.

For example: I would never mention in this blog how my non psycho ex girlfriend showed up on my door step wanting to do her laundry at 5am one day this week. In her defense she did text me in the middle of the night to let me know what her intentions were. Then like any other sane person on this planet she reached the next logical conclusion. Since I didn't respond to her text, nor have I talked to her in weeks she decided in her non crazy brain it would be ok to just show up and wait outside my door for me to wake up. Surprise! Basket of dirty laundry and all there she was when I went to leave for my morning work out. (I'm just glad I locked the dead bolt that night!) 10 years ago you better believe this would have got an on-air segment. I could have taken calls and probably found some way of getting a free restraining order. Now I think I will just let it go like it never happen.

Then there is the captain of my former dart team. I was on his team until Friday Night. Friday Night is when a casual game of darts turned Fox and Hound in Dallas into a War Zone. After I beat our mighty captain (throwing my way not his) he stormed out of the bar throwing a fit like a five-year old child. 10 years ago this jack ass would have had an on-air bit dedicated to him too. You know one of those bits where I am telling the story and there is a crying baby sound effect in the background. These days I don't feel that story should be told in a public forum.

Then there is the Facebook over commenter. Look, I love social media as much as the next guy does. I really appreciate you taking the time out of your schedule to comment on my post but, you really, really, really don't have to comment on every post I make. 10 years ago the over commenter would have got some comments from me he couldn't delete with a click of the mouse. I'm glad I have matured though.

I don't want to forget about the midget at work. This mighty mouse size guy is very comparable to a yippee yappee (that little s.o.b just interrupted me while I was typing this to ask me about a DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince Song. Seriously! WTF?) little dog. He just barks nonsense, non stop all morning long. Yip-Yap!Yip-Yap! Back in 2001 I can hear myself doing a midget being beat to death bit. Today I'll just turn the proverbial other cheek.

I guess this blog is proof that I have calmed down in my advanced age. What can I say? I'm older and wiser! The one thing that hasn't changed is; I can still pick football games! BOOOOYOOO

Hottest NFL Handicapper in U.S. America!

Who has two thumbs and is the Hottest NFL Handicapper in America?

^^^^^^^^^This Guy ^^^^^^^

Yup that's me BigBadSportsDaddy's own Professor L-Train! Last week my picks where direct from Heaven above as I went 4-0 vs the line in the NFL. Did Bob Akmens or Johnathan Stone (two so-called experts) do that? I didn't think so!

I woke up this morning with the Texas Rangers on my mind so I'll keep this blog short & sweet. How about Nelly Freaking Cruz & his boomstick? POW! POW!

I do need to address one thing before I get to picking. Some of you have asked me about the changes coming to BBSD on our social networking pages. I can't say anything just yet but, this will be the biggest change in BigBadSportsDaddy.com's history! That's a Professor L-Train guarantee

Frickin Lockout

I am sick of hearing about Lockouts! The NFL is in the middle of one and the NBA is about to have one. Can you guys just cut out the petty bickering-bitching and just play? Please for the love of God Shut up and play!

Do you remember when sports was fun for everyone? Back in a time before Deion Sanders would make "Business Decisions" on the field. Back when the players hatred towards other team's players was so much it created rivalries? Yes kids Rivalries are almost extinct but it is still a word. Look it up if you don't believe me.

I myself think it is us the fan who is going to get screwed in the end. Yes sir we will wind up paying for the sins of the owners and players.

Example: Let's say The Owners and Players put a new CBA in place. That would mean the owners are paying the players' union more money. Which in turn means prices at the stadium go from way to high to astronomical!. Do you want to pay $15 for a beer at the game? I bet you money you will in the next five years. Joe $32,500 gets to spend more of his hard-earned money to watch these millionaires play and put more in the billionaires pocket. Real classy NFL.

I know the players are fighting for guys past, present and future and that is commendable. My questions is why should the owners have to pay for that? The Players make enough money if they all would agree to hold 2% out of their checks for ( lack of a better term)an old timers fund. Then we they retire they would be eligible for said fund. When you are making $150,000 a game no one is going to be sorry for you if they hold an extra 2% out. Sorry Players.

The thing that gets me is there is plenty of money to go around between players and owners. How rich do you have to get? They are both going to start losing money because they are stubborn jack asses and won't budge an inch.

Are you ready for a logical all be far fetched solution? A solution that would make the game better as well. You know what screw you NFL you don't deserve this solution! IF the USFL or another league wants to take this and run with it,HAVE AT IT!

My solution goes a little something like this, each owner has to put up a prize purse before the game. In each and every game each team has to put up an equal amount. The amount would be set before the season started. After that it is winner take all! They can then divide that amongst the team based on performances of that game. It is simple and it is fair.

It's kind of like Rodeo. In Rodeo If the Cowboy doesn't win; The Cowboy doesn't get paid. It would provide players more incentives to play harder. No more " Buissness Decisions" out there. It would make the game more exciting for the fans, players and owners. It looks like win! win! win! to me~

Do you have a better solution? If so let me hear from you. Or if you got big boobs let me hear from you too!

Shoot OUT BANG BANG

It's Red River Shoot Out Week! Sorry that's what us old schoolers call it. ALL this PC crap has America calling it The Red River Rivalry now. What ever you call it you know It's Texas-OU Weekend!

This is the weekend when The Dallas Highways and Bi-Ways get invaded from the North and South! All those wild ass college kids come to town to get down! There are some crazy rumors floating around that their might be a football game in Dallas too.

Texans are preparing for the game from Brownsville to Lewisville by buying kegs, renting margarita machines, and marinating their finest meats and cleaning their grills. Okies are adjusting their antennas on their double wides. No one bother to tell them they don't work anymore.

All this Red River Shoot Out talk got me to thinking If this were the Old West and there was a shoot out going down I would be Doc Holiday and The College Football betting line would be Ike Clanton! I would be Jesse James and my bookie would be Sandra Bullock ;) I am your freaking Huckleberry!

My name is Larry Stanley aka Professor L-Train and I am 9-3-1 against the spread in 2010. This is all documented on The Biggest Badest Sportyest Website in the world! http://www.bigbadsportsdaddy.com.

You can also catch my podcast the Sports Daddys on BBSD's Radio Page. New shows go up every Wednesday but you can download it then put it on your ipod and listen whenever you want. You now how it all works.

DRAW! Here are this weeks best bets!

Indiana +10 over Michigan
Before the season started I picked the Hoosiers to have a breakout year. They started off 3-0 and are better then most people think. The only problem is no one pays attention to their games. That all changes this Saturday when Denard Robinson brings his Heisman campaign and his Wolverines to Memorial Stadium in lovely Bloomington, Indiana. The eyes of the College football world will certainly glance at this box score and see just how good Indiana is. Michigan may win but it won't be by 10. Expect this game to remind you of a Billy the Kid Lincoln County Shoot out. Over trends are like this: Mich 9-4 Indiana is 7-2-2.

The Over Under is 65 bet Indiana and the Over

Alabama - 8 over Florida

Listen up Alligator Dave it's time to face the facts that Florida isn't as mighty as it once was. You can say The Tide got exposed last week against the Hogs if you want. I say all that did was poke a hornets nest. The Razorbacks not the Gators are the 2nd best team in the SEC. Look for Saban's Outlaws to put it on em. Bet Bama Tide

Oklahoma -3.5 over Texas

I am a Texas Longhorn fan and I never pick their games. This week I make an exception as I want my fellow Horns to save a penny or two. The horns have been way to inconsistent in 2010 to bet them. I am not betting this game but the only way to bet it is Sooners -3.5. Damn typing that I feel like Pat Garrett just shot me in the back.

Stanford +7 over Oregon

This maybe the game of the week! This would be like a gun fight between Wild Bill Hickok and Wyatt Earp. Andrew Luck's Lynch Mob heads north on a mission. Look for Stanford D to be the difference in this game. Not that they will be much of a difference but just enough to get them the win outright. The O/U is 64.5 bet the over and watch these two break 90!

NFL

So I haven't been so good in the NFL this year. I know it's been a season full of home dogs. I just haven't had the stones to pick many of them. My record on the season is 2-4 ATS. This week I like

Philly - 6 over The Redskins
Houston -3 over the Greatness
and
Denis Leary's Pats -1 over Flipper

BEST BETs Bishes

7-1-1 Against the Spread in 2010! Yeah I am making the College lines my bitch! Why pay for "Experts" picks when I am giving you the winners for free! My name is Larry Stanley aka Professor L-Train. No I did not give myself that nickname no matter what those two dorks on the John and Eric Show(Heard every Thursdays on bigbadsportsdaddy.com) say!

This week I am not crazy about any of the lines but I have a few winners for you!

Arizona -7 over California

The Wildcats are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 home games. They just beat a very good Iowa team. Don't bye into any of that let down crap that is floating around the net. Arizona is flat out a better team and at home covers the 7 no problem-o! Bet Arizona

Oregon -12 @ Arizona State

Don't ask me why I felt the need to put both AZ schools in my best bet picks this week but for some reason I did. However this time I am betting against the Grand Canyon State. Last Year Oregon won this game 44-21. This year the Ducks are an offensive juggernaut! Oregon is 3-0 ATS in 2010 and 9-2 in their last 11 games. Bet Oregon and make it your biggest bet of the weekend.

*****Also Bet the over which is 55 in this game! Oregon is averaging over 60 points this year. Nice parlay here**********

Stanford - 4.5 over Notre Dame

Stanford's Defense has been sick this year! They also have a Heisman candidate QB. They roll in to South Bend as the best team and leave with at least a 10 point win! Sorry not this year Irish! Bet Stanford

NFL

So in the NFL I am not as hot! I am 2-3 this year so far. Last week I knew better then to take 3 road favorites but I did it anyway. What the hell was I thinking? This week I'll tell you the best bet on the board looks like Houston-3 at home over Dallas. Being a Cowboys fan I refuse to bet against them or tell anyone else to (wink wink)

Detroit +10.5 over Minnesota
This line is to good to be true! The only team with more problems then the Boys right now are the Vikes. They aren't playing good. Minnesota may win this game at home but it won't be by 11.

Monday Night
Green Bay -3 over Chicago
I am still not buying what The Bears are selling! Yes they are 2-0 but the are the worst 2-0 team in the NFL! Better Lucky then good right Bears fan? Look for the Pack to murder them on Monday Night.

Big Bad Best Bets

Short and sweet Big Bad Sports Daddy's own Professor L-Train(That's Me) is 5-1 ATS in College football in 2010 and 14-0 straight up! NFL I started out last week 1-1. There is not a hotter college football handicapper anywhere in the country as we speak! I am also giving you my picks for free! Why? Because I can!

Arkansas + 2.5 over Georgia

Yes The Hogs are the travel team but have you seen them play? The Razorbacks are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 SEC games. Georgia is unsure if they will have the nations top receiver back or not. I also don't think The Bulldogs D can contain Mallet. Take the Hogs and The points and look for them to win straight up

Nebraska -3.5 over Washington

Nebraska has one of the best secondaries in the nation and a great pass rush. Look for the future 1st rounder Jake Locker to struggle against this D. He simply doesn't have enough help. Nebraska 6-1-1 ATS in their last 6 non conference games. Bet em big!

Tennessee + 14 over Florida

Last year in Florida with little timmy Tebow the Gators only won by the score of 23-13. 14 is way to much to lay to Tennessee in Tenn. Take the VOLS and the points and hope there isn't another long delay to slow them down

NFL

This will probably be the only time I do this all season! I like 3 Road Dogs this week and one you can take to the bank

Chicago +9 over Dallas
This game is in Dallas but did you watch them play on Sunday Night? The Cowboys Offense looked awful! I am not sure if they can manage to score 9 points much less cover 9! Bet Bears.

New England -2.5 over NY JETS

Forget about it! If the Dallas Offense sucks then I don't have the words to start describing the JETS. There D is good but so is the Pats Offensive attack. Pats still this one in The Big Apple and cover no problem

Monday Night

New Orleans -5.5 over San Francisco

The Saints picked up right where they left off on Thursday night vs. The Vikings. The 49ers still have Alex Smith as their starting OB. Enough said! Bet Saints
